I find the black & white photos to be the strongest. 7 is my favorite, it is the most interesting and mysterious shot. I also think it has the most vintage quality to it.
Some of these pictures give off a huge sense of something lost. The last 2, the collar and empty dog bowl, definitely seemed to tell a sad story. My favorite though is #13, it makes me think of growing up and discarding our toys :(
Vote: #13. I agree with the idea that some of these photos convey loss, especially 13. The toy is ragged and looks as though it has died (painfully). For me, it is symbolic of how our view of the world changes as we grow older. We lose that expansive imagination and things become darker. Shooting it in black and white definitely made it even more powerful.
Your black an white photos are very strong and give off such a mysterious, eerie feeling. #13 is my favorite this week. I love how an object as simple as an old toy can tell such a sad story. It really evokes an emotion out of the viewer.
Number 7 is my vote, it's really a creepy shot but I think in a good way. I like your use of shadow, it's the one photo that I had to look at twice in order to really "get."
My favorite is the truck one with "for sale". Really awesome. The framing is excellent, the majestic clouds in the background work well with this old truck with "for sale" handwritten in the window. I see what people are saying about #7, and now I am rethinking my vote. They are both really strong photos.
I like the flat individualism. Kind of surreal and eerie, my favorite is the first one, border of abstract and real

ReplyDeletePic 3 for pow
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is number 6. There is something sorrowful about the "For Sale" sign in the truck. Almost like someone is giving up part of their history.
