I really like #1. It think the sun rays give a feeling of almost moving forward through time (toward the bright sun) giving the photo a temporal dimension. The hand holding out the flowers suggests gives a feeling of anticipation, and curiosity about what's ahead.
I love #2. A lot of our photos as a class do not have people in them, but I think this was done beautifully. The use of light and shadow makes the scene mysterious. It makes me wonder more about the subjects. The whole scene just really looks like something out of a memory.
Number 2, definitely. It captures such a sweet moment, and the reflection of the shadow is, I agree with Jess, almost like it's out of a memory or a flashback. It's a very poignant composition.
