hey man, nice photos. number one has an off balanced subject and I like the simplicity of it. not quite black and white, it looks like the saturation is low but some color is still seeping through in some of these pictures. I really like the second to last , which i am voting for. you show so much concrete which really speaks to how you live in a city and there is a lot of buildings surrounding you. the tree towards the right of the frame kinda balances it out and contrasts the yellow/white cement color with its green.
You have some really great texture's and color happening in this set. I do also love how you've captured the smoke as well, that's a great "in the moment" shot. I think I will have to pick that one as my favorite as well.
photo 6 is my favorite. it is the different from the rest of how the collection is arranged in groups by what seems like location. I like the randomness of the suitcases on a city block along with the business going on in the background with the traffic.
#1 was really cool, I like how you used a low saturation level to almost tease the color in the photo, looking around the photo I found myself searching for the colors and feeling satisfied when find them.
I really like #3 because it feels eerie and strange. I am expecting something to emerge from the smoke, or whatever it is. I think my favorite though is #6. It's so strange. I just keep looking at it and asking questions. Whose bags are they? Where are they? Why isn't the newspaper stand open? Who is the woman in the background? What's with the shopping carts? The way you framed the photo makes me feel like the bags are characters themselves in this strange narrative.
Number 3 is my favorite for this week. The perspective is unique and works with the rising smoke. I love how mysterious and eerie you made the piece feel even though it was taken during the day.
I really like seeing atmosphere and smoke/ fog. My favorite is 3

ReplyDelete#2 almost makes the inanimate subject have human-like features. What is that term again?

ReplyDeleteNumber three is my favorite. I have no idea what's going on in that photo, but I want to know. It triggers my imagination.
