The photo of the carpet rolled up has great texture. I think the way the carpet is lit shows the texture very well of both the topside and underside. I also like the various tones of black, white, and gray.
This set has a very ominous narrative. There's something kind of mysterious in the one with the glowing window lighting up that letter form on the wall that I really enjoy.
Most of these photos feel cold and industrial to me. I think B&W has a lot to do with that, as well as the content in the photos. I really like the dark, creepy staircase and the street at night (second photo in the set). I also think the contrast and composition of your second self-portrait (the last photo) is very interesting.
Joshua - These photos were very abstract and eccentric due to your use of angles and light, and the first shot from out the window was awesome and looked like it came from a scene in the original "Batman"

ReplyDeleteYour third photo from the top was my favorite. I enjoyed that overlapping effect. I also liked your range of light and dark amongst your photographs.

ReplyDeleteThe perspective you've set in each photo makes them really interesting in B&W. The B&W really expresses the shadows and contrast between the lighting.
