I really love your first photo, very cool abstraction. I also like your use of darkness in the rest of the photos, but would caution to look out for lost detail when the shadows run too deep.
I think the seventh one looks like something you would see under a microscope. It reminds me of a placebo. I like the well defined, yet subtle shapes. It has a real simple and subtle feel to it.
I'm really liking the dark tones in your photographs. I particularly love the third photograph from the top and how the three spotlights on the street lead me through the image.
I looked at your first picture for so long trying to figure out what it was! I think its a great abstract look as Jessica mentioned. I wonder if it would have the same effect in color?
I'm partial to street scenes so I really liked your photos taken (I assume) in and around Philadelphia. I feel like there's a cohesiveness in these photographs, and choice of subjects eschews the common touristy cliche's in favor of realism. It made me feel a sense of belonging as I grew up in this area.
The second part of your photo set definitely got less specific, and began to play up the "mystery" aspect of art and photography. For several of the photos it's not immediately clear what the subject is, which is nice. Good job.

ReplyDeleteI personally think the second one from the bottom is your strongest. The tones and lines give it a lot of texture.
