  1. The consistency of the close-up shots is really nice. Your toning is brilliant, I love the subtlety.

  2. I agree with Josh. Your use of toning to enhance certain shots (and choice to avoid it in your last) was very impressive. Your second photo, in my opinion, was especially breathtaking. What I like most of all is that, generally speaking, your images are simple close-ups that allow the detail of the subjects to speak for themselves.

  3. I really like the china ball one. It is funny seeing soft light falling onto a china bal instead of emerging out of.

  4. Excellent texture and toning. The photos feel intimate and I like that. I think it has a lot to do with the toning of your black and the contrast you have in your images.

  5. In picture two from the bottom: I like the brutal simplicity (which I think I could work on), shallow depth of field, and the way the light works to show shape. The lighting was nailed perfectly to really exagerate the shape.

    1. Also meant to say, you have a great eye for getting to the core of shapes throughout all your photos. You seem to be able to strip away all the excess and get right to the most important elements (again, something I'm trying to work on myself).

  6. I've looked at pretty much everyone's pictures at this point and yours definitely are among the best I've seen. In fact I discarded many of my own photos that tried to make use of the toning techniques that seem to come naturally to you. Your emphasis on shapes really brings a 3 dimension feel to most of the photos. Several have a mysterious aspect as well. Well done.

  7. Andrew - My favorite shot is your last photo of the palm trees looks like your laying on the ground looking up and gives the photo a great composition!
